Anyone ever listen to these guys? I saw them open for 311 and I was blown away. Three guys with LOTS of talent, and a great show indeed.

Yeah, they're great. They're not my favorite band or anything, but I can't really think of anybody else that has as much musical talent as those guys.

They are stylistically very different from 311, I honestly don't know how they got paired.
Uninivisible is the shit! These guys give me a lot of inspiration writing music, you can tell some of the songs are just improv and turn out bad ass. I would've loved to see them on tour with DJ Logic or another cool guest musician they always have.... Hell I need to at least see them live once!
My fav tunes: "I wanna ride you" "Retirement Song" "Night Marchers" "Kenny" "Bubblehouse"

They don't have to be stylistically the same.. I was more reading into the fact that 311 is a group of really good musicians, so they probably tour with other really good musicians. heh. I'll check out a couple of those, thanks.

I recently saw Medeski Martin and Wood at Bonnaroo this year. They played the most relaxing, chilled, needed sunset show of the whole fest. I felt like "Weekend at Bernies", I was so dead from all the other events, and substances indulged, that I felt mentally and physically paralyzed. And then, miraculously, when Medeski Martin and Wood played their set, I was dancing blindly through the mudd-puddles and has entered back into my Self, reality, and Nirvana..
Complete ecstacy was born again on that day. I am the renaissance woman :-)
-------------------- A plethora of music aspirations control my temptations of future revelations beyond "now". The percussion, and the heart beat of my love and devotion. The rhythm goes beyond, prying into the third eye, releasing the creativity held so far inside. The melodicies, through the out of tune pianos and broken classical guitars...there lies a beauty. A beauty as prevelent as the fire inside. To release these energies is pure ecstacy, to deveop these gifts is sacred. The vocality, so pure as can be, shying away from herself, lies within me. For the underlying serenitity, this is what I live for. I plea for harmony, and nothing more. Music equals love. Creation of love leads to the procreativity of the World, and it's spirals and puddles prevailing.

MMW opened for 311? thats kinda strange. MMW is like a "grown ups" band, and 311 is just a bunch of pothead yuppies from west o. :-p

eh.. ever listen to the MUSIC though?
311 is incredibly talented. Every one of them is such an incredible musician.
Does it really matter what "scene" a band fits into if they're incredibly talented and creative?
Doesn't to me...

The MMW (and it's Medeski's name first) track Bubblehouse, if you listen to it and don't live in NYC, well just imagine riding the express train between two long stops...someone once told me (and it makes perfect sense) that, being from Brooklyn, the guys in MMW wrote that song to last the exact length it takes to get from one particular station to another on the N/R/Q/W lines...and it really does convey it!

Also, I haven't seen acid with my own eyes much less even hear about it being around in a long time - but at the recent benefit show at Bowery Ballroom, I saw two people take a couple of hits together right by the bar..must be a great trip listening to those guys.
