call your state government.... spread the word... if enough people know about this and it's clear that popular opinion is against it, it can't pass in congress. I don't know exactly how you would go about doing it, but your best bet would probably be to contact your congressman and get as much info about this from him as you can, and ask what his opinion on it is.
If we can get enough people worked up about this BEFORE the election, this could even help sway quite a few voters to vote against bush.

I saw this book in this building I was working in.. it had a listing of all the congressman and woman in the US for every state.. listing their email address and phone number and everything.. I wish I took a copy... maybe I could go up there today and gank one

Introduced: January 7, 2003 by Sen. Ernest F. Hollings [SC]
Cosponsors: None.
Status:
1/7/2003: Read twice and referred to the Senate Committee on Armed Services.
Especially note the current status. This is from the HSLDA site.
It is disturbing that various people are supporting the draft, Senator Ernest Hollings, Senator Chuck Hagel to name a couple. That said if we don't wind up with another 4 years of Bush I think we can rest easy in regards to the draft. Kerry knows what it means to be in war, he no doubt served with predominately drafted soldiers during his service years. I don't think he would support a revivification of the draft. Bush on the other hand has no idea what it's like and so doesn't mind throwing warm bodies into the meat grinder until doomsday.
