no, it goes on bottom, if it were on top the whole image would just be white

Heh yeah I figured I must have understood something wrong.
Anyways, I tried it and I must have done something wrong because I did not notice any difference. I even bumped it up to 5 pixels and nothing happened :frown:

This brings me to another question (if you don't mind).

If I have a figure (eg a person) in one layer, and a background color as another layer, but want to feather the edges of the person, would the steps done in this tutorial be any different?

yes

the step where you would use the magic wand will no longer work on something that doesn't have as clean lines as the lettering work i did (or similar) ...

you will need to do a different technique which i am teaching in the next tutorial ... it is what i consider the MOST IMPORTANT thing to learn in photoshop to do professional work ... it is: the pen tool

expect it soon

i should have mentioned that i am going to have to make a lot of pen tutorials for a lot of it's various uses, because it's what i use more than any other tool

I'll be making a tutorial on weird layer twistings "eventually."

HB this is a great idea

Insert an "I think" mentally in front of eveything I say that seems sketchy, because I certainly don't KNOW much. Also; feel free to yell at me.

the "equilibrium" image looks great now

i should post some of my old graffiti sometime on here. most people in the "art" world dont understand the skill it takes to experiment and come up with original fonts.

it's wrong to use bit torrent and the like...and it's especially wrong to ask certain shroomerites for cracks/hacks/etc once the initial install is complete

How do you Photoshop users feel about the GIMP if you've used it? Is it comparable for non-professional use?
