 Bacterial contamination?

I'm growing my first cakes, Golden Teacher strain. The print didn't look like it had very much spores so we only made little syringe and applied it on two cakes.
After little less than two weeks, there was some thick, brilliantly white growth which has expanded a bit mut not too much, few cm^2 i guess. Mycelium (?) has now colonized only some 1/5 of the jar.
Is this bacterial contamination (faq's say it slows down the growth) or is it possible that this is just about too low temperature (around 20-25 degrees celcius), or something wrong with materials used in cakes? If it is bacterial contamination, is there any change that the cake would survive?

bac sucks...you can tell if it looks watery...just let em be (umm not sure on the temp in C but 80f at least.
If both jars look the same then leave em....
see if you can get em to colonize the rest of the way...when you open them it will smell sour and nasty....(dont take a direct sniff!!! whaft the smell toward you)
check the contam forum for a list of contams and symptoms...it will help

80f is around 30 degrees C, so i guess I should get the jars to a warmer place then. It's not looking watery yet. Growth is also only on the other side, and someone said that maybe slowness of visible growth is about inproper injection of the spore suspension. We'll see.
Another jar doesn't show any growth whatsoever, but it got screwed already in the making, i guess.

dont jump to throw it out...leave it for a week or 2 and see what happens...
a light small spore print can make a couple syringes...the black dots you see are a zillion spores....think about that...only 1 needs to germinate.
So a clear syringe can have thousands of spores...no worries

If you've got bacteria, one way to tell, is it will start to smell different. Ammonia smell sometimes.
pic would help -- so your saying this brilliant white growth isint mycelium?

No, I do think the white growth is mycelium, and there's no other growth than that. I guess I explained situation badly.

Keep an eye on it.
