I think the sugar caramalized? (agar sterilization)

So I made a mixture of agar flakes, fructose, yeast and potato water and sterilized for 45 mins in a pressure cooker the solution looked kind of grey when it went in now it looks brown  Is this agar solution useless know? I have more I can reliquify if I need to. I don't understand how the sugar could caramalize at 250F and I'm pretty sure this cooker wouldn't go above that temp so am I overreacting or is the medium supposed to look like that?

I don't think that the sugar caramelized, it's probably because of the yeast.
