 cracked corn questions

I'm going to try using cracked corn this grow but I have a few questions before I cook. First should I use fine or course cracked corn? When I simmer is it supposed to stay hard in the center and slimy on the outside? Does the corn expand in the pc or just when simmering? What about powdering it and doing it like a pf jar, will it grow faster than brf? My plans were to try to make shakable quarts, should I use verm, how much if so. I only saw one cracked corn guide, i hope someone can clear this up.

i would say that the coarser stuff will colonize faster via shaking. just my experience/observation to not pulverize the substrate; coarser stuff works better than pulverized. imho.

oh and corn doesn't expand too much after soak/simmer.
