Hey. Its there land. Would you want someone climbing into youir moms back yard looking for shrooms.. Trepassers can bbe shot.

Someday you might own some land somewhere and you too would not like someone prowling on your land without your permission.. They havce that right as taxpayers and land owners.

mj

Eveyone acts like its their right to go on other peoples property which someone else has worked hard to keep and pick mushrooms.

The owner has first rights.

Well, i think mj's advice is good.

People have reported getting shot at and even Hit (with rocksalt), at a few fields in sarasota.

They'll shoot you!!!!

One time i talked with a farmer who owned a field next to a Walmart (or a target i forget which), anyways, he has one of the most accessable shroom-fields in town that i've seen, and he has tons of copelandia and Cubensis that grow in it;
-The guy wasn't joking with me when he said that he has literally dragged kids off his property by their necks and threw them over the fence and into the walmart parking lot.
-He also said that his father (who owns the land) has beat the sh*t out of kids first before draggin them away and off the land. Holds onto the kids while he waits for the coppers to come too.

It's no joke, shroom-hunting is very-risky fun, especially in Florida!!!

Can you hear the words that are coming out of your mouth.

All of a sudden the farmer is stupi. HEs the one who owns the property. It his land. He earned it or it is in his family. Why would you lable him stupid for protecting his property from people who trespass?

MJ, he was referring to the stupid people trespassing and then getting injured, and then possibly suing the farmers.

Kinda like the law that says if a robber is robbing a house and accidently cuts himself in the process of robbing a house, than the home-owners can be sued (by the thief) because the robber cut himself while robbing their house.

 Where did i hear that from?
-It couldn't be true.

I also heard the story from a sibling who majored in criminal justice that a robber was trying to climb on the roof of a house to break in. Anyway, the roof was steep, he fell off and broke his leg. He then sued the owners of the house for his injury, and won. What a bastard.

MJ I love you because you are the shiznit and all but you need to read posts a little more carefully.  Noone called a farmer stupid.  Go read all the posts again and show me where someone actually called a farmer stupid.

I was making fun of all the peeps that sue farmers, and blaming THEM (the people that are suing farmers) for the reason that people can't get on farmer's land.

Years and years ago, farmers and everyone else for that matter, didn't care who came on their land. You could walk across a pasture w/ no problems.

PS  I know what I say is true because I OWN a cow and my own PASTURE! I've been in the horse business for years and talk w/ other farmers on a daily basis. Sure some of them know about mushrooms, but most of them just don't want to get SUED. They don't want to get sued for having a nut sac torn, for getting trampled by a bull or even falling in a small hole.  People today are sue happy and the farmers (including myself) are just looking out for their wallet.

Plus, they don't want people poaching on their land! Go figure!

Oh and Gumbydude, my bad on the pic. It won't happen again!
