hey everyone, im a realatively new shroomer. i was wondering you you all could give me some advice. its common knowledge that a lot of psilocybian mushrooms grow on cow dung and in cow pastures, and being from wisconsin the dairy state, there is no shortage of this. i just wondered weither or not the climate here would support them. anyways if you guys could help me out, are there active mushrooms that grow here? im pretty sure i could find them in the late summer/fall if there are but if you all could gimmie a lil advice id appreciate it. thanks.

scroll down to Wisconsin...
Wisconsin Psilocybe azurescens (Introduced)
I take it "Introduced" means someone planted the spores. So your odds look pretty slim for finding actives unless the FAQ is out of date.

Don't forget (from that same FAQ):
Quote:
Throughout the United States and Canada the species Panaeolus subbalteatus grows.
I don't know why nobody seems to notice that. Maybe I should make it bold or something.
Happy mushrooming!

I think you might be able to fine some big laughing gyms here...but they might not even contain psilo( I live 5 miles from wisconsin.) I spend a lot of time outside though and I can tell you right now youre better off just growing your own. There are a ton of edible mushrooms to pick around here if youre not just into the drug kind of shrooms. Honey mushrooms , puffballs, and my favorite the morel can be found in abundance near dead elm trees in sunny area during the month of may. Good luck

hey, i wonder why everyone hates on wisconsin, ive looked for a while, this year i found psilo containing big gyms and conocybe cyanopus way up north in wisconsin, the gyms were right by milwaukee, and the conocybe was far north, north of crivitz in a cemetary with moss uder the grass. they are here, why does everyone act so red toward finding shit here, growing them isn't all so easy and affordable for everyone, this year, in wisco, i got my $ worth.
