Their arn't any unless you become mentally unstable from them. Look into your familys history for mental problems.

Long term efrfects are practically nonexistant. They are not from shrooms. If you do them too many times you do not get their effects and do not get off unless a dose is greatly increased and by7 then you just do not get off. mj

The only long term effect that could possibly happen is a mental instability that one has dormant before and that has been triggered by the experience.

From everything I have read shrooms are pretty safe over the long run unless you do them once a week or more and that can make you a little wacky. I guess that long term negative effects might be an altering of perception and possible alienation from the day to day world.
Howver, I am curious about long term negative effects of LSD might be since it is so much more active and long lasting than psilocybin. Anybody know?

if you do them once a week or more you'll build resistance and you'll have to eat more and more mushrooms to get the same feeling unless you take a break. As for LSD, I doubt there are any long term negative side effects.

What about HPPD? There is another thread about that on this board. Thoughts?

There are several long term negative effects of shrooming, but it all depends on the person.
Aside from triggering a latent psychological disorder, the things that the trip shows you and the answers it gives you has been known to cause depression, which can last several years as it has done in certain instances.
But like I said, it all depends on the person, many people have no problems at all

I would assume shrooms are similar acid in this regard. Moderate use should produce no problems in a normal person. Heavy extened use would probably cause some mild and temporary imbalances in brain chemistry that would cause reduction in short term memeory and a genral feeling a spacyness. Such symtoms would likly clear up in a matter of months ( or less) if the person stopped heavy use.
As long as you space your trips out to no more than about once every three weeks you would prbably experience little to no side effects.

Those legendary blue/pink/white dots I think are just stress. Every good trip I have had, I don't notice those at all. But on the other hand, if I have a bad trip, I see them lots during the next few weeks. I also found, that if I smoke a little pot, they go away.

Well... every time I meditate or go asleep I notice to see them. Maybe because I pay attention to that what I see when I close my eyes.
Well... except light trips I didn't have anything from over 7 months. But those dots are just fine and are not going anywhere
