hi
my foaf has amz and lipa yai fully colonised on wbs in less than two weeks(1/2 pints).he was gonna case with coir/verm 60/40 but just noticed that lipas are a dung loving strain.
will they still go alright on coir/verm only?
has anyone ever tried a 1/3 each of coir/verm and poo?
if he tries poo it needs to be pasturized and NOT sterilized right?
any advice on that would be welcome and
a link to pasterizing pooh would be great.
he's tried the faq's and needs a point in the right direction.

sterilise some poo then use the grain to spawn it,let the myc colonise the poo the case it with 60/40.

Here's a really good purpose for spawn. This tek has also really worked well for this guy I know.

Poo is not a casing ingredient. It is a bulk substrate that you spawn with your grain. You still have to case with verm/coir in the end. Poo is not a good ingredient for a casing, since a casing should contian no nutrients. Lipa yai should do just fine off of wbs cased with verm coir, but spawning bulk poo is almost always better.

You could case straight grain if you wanted to, but, its better to spawn your grain into manure.
YOu then would incbate this manure/spawn mix until THAT colonized 100%.
Then you could add a casing of coco coir/vermeculite.
You could skip the manure all together and just add some wet vermeculite, have that colonize nad then case that whole mixutre.
