Psychedelics vs. Entheogens

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but I was noticing that people use the terms "psychedelic" and "entheogen" interchangably, but they have very different definitions. I was just wondering if there are any psychedelics that are not entheogens or any entheogens that are not psychedelics.

I think they're pretty interchangeable terms. Psychedelic means "mind manifesting" and entheogen means "God illuminating" or something to that effect. I use them interchangeably all the time, depending on what i'm trying to express. Maybe entheogen is more used for plant hallucinogens as opposed to chemicals and psychedelic can be any of them? Whatever, they work interchangeably for me.

I guess what's an entheogen to one person is a psychedelic to another.

yeah the terms are interchangeable, for the most part.
some people define "psychedelic" very narrowly but I think it actually has a broader definition than "entheogen" it can be used to describe things unrelated to drugs, like psychedelic art or psychedelic music. I also think its possible to have a psychedelic experience without any drug use. it describes more of a state of mind rather than specific drugs or experiences.
I could have a "mind manifesting" experience while listening to music, or taking a walk in the woods...
as nouns, the terms are interchangeable - referring to certain mind altering substances, but psychedelic is also an adjective, and it has much wider use.
