It's a great idea, it will just take some time.. and by some time, I mean a lot of time. PDF is nicer than HTML in my opinion because we can condense a wealth of pages into one file, whereas with HTML, each page would be its own file. As far as copyrighted works, this is probably a bad idea. I know some places publish such work, but they likely have permission to do so. If it was a static copy on the site, that's one thing (provided we have approval), but I don't think people are so fond of having multiple copies distributed so freely.

I'm just starting school and am working on rewording the disclaimers in addition to finishing some paid-for work elsewhere.. so I don't have time to figure out how to contact these people and then request permissions for written duplication. I'm not even comfortable doing so, because I don't know what holds up legally, and I certainly don't want to ask these authors for a notarized written consent, you know? If someone with legal expertise can put these issues at rest, then perhaps we can persue this option.

How about Enter acquires the permission and the documents, then I don?t see why the documents couldn?t be put up.

Well that is OK - but one of the admins will need to have a hardcopy of all these permissions in case we ever catch any heat for having the documents available.
edit: and I'd like some reassurance as to what constitutes legal permission.

But does anyone know the legality behind what type of permission we need to do what we intend to do? I'm not so sure a forwarded email is appropriate as they can be spoofed relatively easily.
