 handling poisonous mushrooms

hi guys. new to this place. just wondering what the dangers are (if any) of handling a poison mushroom. can the toxins get thru the skin? what if you get a little bit on your hands and you rub your eyes or wipe your mouth later on?

Surely this information is avaliable elsewhere... but no, you can't be poisoned transdermaly. It's always a good idea to wash your hands after handling unfamiliar mushrooms because it is possible that they could irritate your eyes or mouth. You need to eat about a gram(someone tell me if I'm wrong) of a poisonous mushroom to have any ill effects.

There are no recorded cases of a person being poisoned by handling poisonous mushrooms. You have to eat them (or get them inside your body some other way). I know of a case where someone was poisoned from tasting acrid Russulas and spitting the piece out every time.
While being poisoned from rubbing your eyes or wiping your mouth is probably possible, I don't know af any specific cases where it has happened. For obvious reasons, washing your hands is a good idea.
