Doing drugs makes you miss out on life experiences * 2
    #19197402 - 11/27/13 05:12 PM (10 years, 4 months ago)

This is just a theory, it might not be true for you but it is true for me. As I grew older and began trying new drugs I became more interested in doing the drugs then living life. I think of the time I have spent acquiring, consuming, thinking of the drugs. All the time being high at home when I could be out travelling, pursuing hobbies, having new life experiences. I actually think that when I was younger I had more hobbies and as I began using more drugs a lot of those hobbies were dropped at the exact same time. Anybody notice this or am I tripping?

I'm sure not all of us have an unhealthy obsession with them. I'd say they enhance most life experiences.

Everything in moderation, if your happy living your life the way you are then your doing it right.

If your unhappy, change something. Most of all be honest with yourself, if your abusing something in your life you will know it, it's just admitting it that's hard sometimes.

I'm not even doing drugs every day at this point. I think though even smoking weed, chilling at home and playing video games to cure your boredom can cause this.

*Doing drugs to the extent that it impedes with life experiences makes you miss out on life experiences

Psychedelics made me appreciate things in life I wouldn't have payed attention to otherwise (both while using and post-trip).  I'd say they enhanced life experiences.

Opiates led me to drop out of life.

always thought of drugs as the spices to life.  you need the stable foods of a diet to add spices to enhance flavor.  can't just live of consuming spices.  you know?

And like spices, they are entirely unnecessary. But when used properly they can really increase the quality of the meal (life).

Blanket statement

I know stoners that sit around and do nothing and I know stoners that do triathlons. You can't just lump all drug users together.

You still fantasize and romanticize about drugs 24/7. Are you active in any forum that isn't drug related? I'm guessing not.

You'll have a lot more to do once you finally start moving toward independence, i.e. getting a job, moving out, etc. You might even meet a friend or two along the way

Yup. I love the raciness of a good toke; really helps me get up and going like I'm on auto-pilot. Add some strong :coffee: and I couldn't sit down if I tried

I do my hobbies while I do my drugs, except when I'm high enough that I know my fingers/mind/whatever are to clumsy for the tools I'll use.
