batch from today

Also got gel caps to package up whats left of last weeks pick. The lone patch that i konw of is still flourishing, getting around 20-30g fresh each week from it, which is about usual. Found a stick that fell into the bush nearby that had a sub pin growing off of it and a ton of mycelium. Grabed the stick and trying to see if i can get any to grow in a big clay pot full of pinebark that ive put under some bushes in my yard. Will let oyu guys know how it goes. I don't think i'll get any fruits from it this year but hopefully the mycelium spreads.

Sfask get some tanbark for your colonized stick, subs will grow on pinebark, but not because they would prefer to, trust they will appreciate some nice shredded eucalyptus bark/sticks/mulch.

Nox you need to be hitting those woodchip beds, bush subs are a bitch to find, not saying it cant be done but ime they dont grow as gragariously as subs on woodchip, trust me when you hit "the patch" you will never go bush again, that being said, i find bush subs to have a nicer "vibe" about them.

Hi Folks,
First time posting here, although I have been doing a little lurking. For study breaks lately i've been getting out and about doing nature photography and have been coming across a lot of fungi, so decided to try and hit too birds with one stone so to speak... i'm fairly sure there's nothing here of value, but would like to confirm, and also ask whether these species indicate that the area is a good place to keep looking? here's an imgur album to get things started. http://imgur.com/a/lepQt#0
i labelled the separate mushrooms/patches with numbers
cap view and stems.

gill view and (crappy) spore prints

Habitat: area is urban Sydney, and the habitat was basically wood chip and Eucalypt leaf litter. The imgur album shows it pretty well, i won't post all the pictures so as to not clutter things up...
Stems and Bruising: most of the stems exhibited some kind of dark bruising, but not a real purple/blue colour. #1 didn't really show much at all, more of an orange colour.
a few of the stems has little rings (particularly #3,5,8), which i understand is not a good thing?
Spore Print: the spore prints were not so good (haven't done one for a long time... since 2nd year plant biol i think) but were not really a dark/purple - more of a yellowy orangey colour...
anyway, let me know what you think i have here or if i've left out some details.
thanks and cheers.

1. Leratiomyces ceres. 4. Laccaria sp.
The rest all appear to be the seem mushroom, which is likely Galerina.
No actives or Edibles I am afraid.

considering those species presence, are you able to say whether it's likely any actives would be growing in the area? cheers

It is getting towards the end of the season in NSW, you may still have some luck if there are other species about in your area.
I find Galerina are a good indicator to have a closer look for Subs, however they tend to grow in a larger abundance and have a much longer season then subs.

Hey all, I know the P.sub season is over but can anyone possibly help out with a spore print of a P.cubensis strain (from within Australia)?

Oh Yeah! More Novacastrians on the hunt, definitely going to find something this season, even if it takes driving to Maitland.

Hey guys, nooby hunter and novice psycho here. I'm currently visiting your fantastic country for a year. Right now I am in north eastern-ish NSW . I am in the Scone/Merriwa/Musswelbrook area working/staying on a cattle farm (WWOOF'ing, if you know of it).
I have a good chunk of spare time everyday and I like to take leisurely walks through the paddocks. Well, we just had a real good rain not 5 minutes ago, and it has not frosted over night for a few nights in a row now. Plenty of cow shit, fresh and old. I figured it may be worth my time to take an extra minute on my walk tomorrow and look out for some mushies, eh? Though it hasn't been humid, which I believe is a factor...?
I don't really have a point to this post, other than to say hello and happy hunting! Also if anyone has any tips for me to my specific scenario I'd be glad to here them!
