Thinking of applying to the Geek Squad
    #16600072 - 07/27/12 04:05 PM (9 months, 22 days ago)

Pretty much what the title says. I don't know where else I can apply in IT. I only have about 5 years experience and a 2 year degree. No certs. I think it's either that or go to local repair shops personally and try and sell myself to them.

Any suggestions/tips/advice?

A+ is probably required or would help you get in the door there much easier.

I got 2 emails today from 2 different recruiters from 2 different recruiting company's trying to place me in the same job as a phone help desk consultant. IDK if I like people enough to do a job where I will have to talk on the phone, plus its a 45 minute drive. I didn't even apply for the job, I have a resume on monster and I have a couple of certs, and almost done a 2 year computer degree, so my resume looks decent. I really think the certifications are what gets me the emails. I really need to find a job, I don't think I would want to work for geek squad, I think given the choice I would rather work a help desk than geek squad.

start your own computer repair business, why get 8.50 an hour with your skills? i have been fixing computers for over 12 years and it pays every one of my bills and then some. I also never finished HS.
