Some pretty interesting stuff so far

New Orleans Hornets have made 2 nice picks; obviously the #1 getting Anthony Davis, but they got an awesome pick in #10 getting SG Austin Rivers (Doc River's son)

Houston Rockets have made good work of their 3 picks with SG Jeremy Lamb, SF Royce White, and PF Terence Jones

Boston Celtics just used their 1st pick of the draft at #21 to draft PF Jared Sullinger. This could be the steal of the draft. He slipped due to potential back problems, but I think he will fit in GREAT with the Celtics. Then use #22 to get Center Fab Melo. 2 very interesting picks for Boston!! Although they need to get themselves a shooter here with their next pick.

Cleveland Cavaliers have got me on the fence. We missed being able to get Kidd-Gilchrist when he went #2 to Charlotte. Used the #4 to get Syracuse SG Dion Waiters, dont know how I feel about him, id have to ask Jewunit. Then we decided to trade the rest of our picks (#24,#33,#34) in order to get Center, Tyler Zeller from the Mavericks (#17 pick). I think we overpaid but we'll see. I think the Cavs really needed to get 3-4 players out of this draft. We better make a move in free agency or I will be upset with the front office.

Orlando Magic made a very interesting move using their 1st pick to take Center Andrew Nicholson, I think it's a great pick and would have loved to see the Cavs take him but I think that means they are ready to move Dwight.

Phoenix Suns also made a nice pick at #13 taking PG Kendall Marshall from UNC. I think that opens room for Phoenix to move Steve Nash if they can come to do it.

edit- The Magic have used both of their draft picks on Centers. Kyle O'Quinn from Norfolk State. Bye Bye Dwight

Thunder just got Perry Jones PF from Baylor.

Best pick they could have possibly made

edit- I am calling it now, next pick in, Pistons select Darius Miller... we'll see.... maybe not but I think he goes in the next 5 picks at least

Golden State Warriors might be having the best draft in terms of potential

1. Harrison Barnes PF UNC
2. Festus Ezeli C Vanderbilt (the steal of the draft I believe)
3. Draymond Green SF Michigan State (another steal this late, I had him late 1st round)

edit-
Darius Miller ended up going 2 picks after Pistons to Hornets. Another great pick for the Hornets. They are going to be good next year

Hornets now have

1. Anthony Davis F Kentucky
2. Austin Rivers G Duke
3. Darius Miller G/F Kentucky

I'm with you on the Sullinger pick. What a fucking steal to get him at that pick. The back problems are why he slid so far, and maybe the doctors are right and he'll have a short career.

BUT...if they're wrong, Sullinger will be a career 17/9 guy. Watch. He's the best on the block force of the draft. He can be an all-star PF in this league if he can stay healthy; there's no doubt in my mind.

And speaking of steals -- how about Eddie Drummond. Back before Davis exploded onto the scene, Drummond was considered the top prospect of this draft class. He's massive (6'11", 280 pounds) and has world class athleticism. He runs the floor like he's 220 pounds and plays 5 stories above the rim. Motivational issues and horrific free throw shooting dropped him down to 9, but man. Dude only played one year of college. If he pans out, he could be a star of the Andrew Bynum/Dwight Howard/Amare Stoudemire mold. He's that talented.

Andre Drummond?

I agree. I was thinking the Cavs might take him because we need a Center.

But I couldnt be any happier with Tyler Zeller.. I am just upset we gave up 3 picks for him.. But then I found out when the deal was finalized that they also sent us Azabuike (sp?) ... He scored 1,100 points in the season before he played in Dallas. He could be a good 3 point shooter for us.  And with Kyrie Irving and now Dion Waiters, we should be pretty solid

I am just frustrated with the Dion Waiters pick. We'll see how it pans out, but I had my heart set on getting Michael Kidd-Gilchrist. And since he went #2, I thought we would have taken Thomas Robinson the PF from Kansas who I feel is the most NBA-ready player in the draft

Hornets and Warriors won the draft though. They both had amazing picks.

Celtics gambled twice, but could strike gold twice. Both JJ Sullinger and Fab Melo are big men with lots of potential.

I think Sullinger will be a beast as well. I was hoping he'd stay in Ohio and be a Cavalier. He went #21 and Cavs held the #24 pick at that time.

Lol, yeah, I meant Andre. I think Eddie Drummond is a former NFL kick returner

Zeller is already pretty polished. He can step in right away and contribute, say unlike a raw and untapped Andre Drummond. I think a lot of scouts think his "ceiling" is lower than most (if not all) of the first round bigs, but the plus with him is he can help right away. And although I don't think he'll ever be a "great" player (IMHO) -- I do think he will be a solid NBA starting big for 10 years or so. There's a lot to be said for that.

Waiters is often compared to Tyreke Evans or Rodney Stuckey. Great slashing ability with questionable or inconsistent perimeter shooting. Other than that I don't know much about him...it will be interesting to see how he'll pan out.

I guess being a Cavs fan and eyeballing this draft for a long time, I was disappointed we didnt end up with 4 players. We could have had 4 top 35 picks. And there was lots of quality still available at picks 30-35

Cavs need at least 1 big free agent signing. Kyrie Irving is a fucking stud, next Chris Paul if you ask me. I guess that's why he was Rookie of the Year without dispute. Now we just need to put talent around him to keep him in Cleveland.

I know it's a long shot, but id love to get LeBron back after he wins a couple rings in Miami. Pair him up with Kyrie Irving once he has 5 years experience. Bring Cleveland a title. Wishful thinking I know.

Yeah I don't think Lebron or Cleveland is going to mend any of the scars they left behind.

I think he'll end up back in Cleveland before he retires...

I couldnt see him anywhere else... but my heart is in Cleveland

Hints my optimism about drafting Tyler fuckin Zeller

Didn't the Cleveland Mayer say that the Cavs were going to win a title before Lebron does?  After he left for Miami?

That was actually the owner of the Cavs who said that (Dan Gilbert).

Yes. He was just butthurt like the rest of Cleveland was.

What do you expect when a young man from a town 35 minutes way gets on ESPN and tells your team to go fuck themselves in an event no other professional basketball player has ever done before. ala "the decision"

Also, let's not forget, LeBron said he wouldnt leave Cleveland without winning a championship

That was a punk move for the ages, dude. Part of the reason why so many fans turned against him.

Leaving is one thing, but setting up a nationally televised event to do so is another entirely. Why not just call Gilbert and the Cav's front office up and break the news to them? Save them and the entire fan base the embarrassment and shame of getting dumped in front of the nation.

It was really fucked up how he did it.

Oh, you know I agree

Not only that, if you are going to leave us high and dry, at least give us an opportunity to trade you.

Nothing is worse than thinking he is getting on TV to say "ill be staying in Cleveland," then having him say "im leaving."

I cant think of anyone here, except Paw, who thinks that is an acceptable move.

I understand Free Agents move on all the time. It was just the way he did it. He had us all sitting on the edge of our seats, thinking he would do the honorable thing and re-sign

I'm a Piston fan, and I remember when Grant Hill (when he was a top 5 NBA player before injuries destroyed him) bolted on us. He said a lot of the same shit LeBron did...I'm here for life, won't stop trying til we win it all, blah-blah-blah, etc.

The moment he became a free agent though he was gone. I hated him for it at the time, but looking back -- at least he went to Joe Dumars and said that he would allow the team to sign and trade him so they could at least get something out of it. He didn't wanna leave them high and dry. So long story short, the Pistons get Ben Wallace out of the deal who goes on to win 4 defensive player of the year awards for the Pistons and was one of the first and foremost key pieces on the 2004 championship team that obliterated the Lakers in 5 games.

So I at least respected Grant for doing that.
