Florida Amanita ID Request
    #16440478 - 06/26/12 02:38 PM (11 months, 17 days ago)

I'd really like to figure out what these are, as I keep finding a million of them, and I also saw a couple other ppl post about them on here...

I can't find them in a couple different N. American mushroom identification books, so I assume they are a special FL or southern US mushroom?

Looks just like an Amanita Albocreata, but I didn't think they grew here...

Ahhhh... I'll cut the stem, inspect the root (or bulb if it has one), and attempt to take a spore print next time I come across one...

i hate not being able to figure it out!:facepalm3:

The spore print will definitely be white too I can imagine...

They grow tall and skinny though, with not-very-thick caps, etc....

Most were no more than 4 or 5 inches tall, and ALL had caps completely folding upwards

The stem of Amanita sp-S01 measures 87± × 7.5± mm

85 millimeters is ~3.3 inches

Tough to say, they are all extremely waterlogged. Hopefully you can find some in better condition next time you head out
