Diablo 3 farming spots
    #16329942 - 06/04/12 05:57 AM (11 months, 7 days ago)

Alright all you gear grinders and farmers.  What are your favorite spots to farm?

Right now I have been using the checkpoint in Act 1 right before you kill the Wretched Queen in the Old Ruins and making runs back to the cellar at the top of the screen called the Dank Cellar.  It's not always there of course.

The monster in there is Sarkoth "Hoarder of Treasure" in there with only three other standard monsters around him.  All Quill Fiends.

I only have 57% MF though, but I have almost a full set of gear that was a great improvement over what I was using and countless gems and gold.  I got all of that after a short amount of time.  If you really grind it you can come out with much better results I'm sure and of course all the other variables that make a difference......  Magic Find I guess is all that really matters.

Ive been doing the same thing, but after that teleporting back to town and going to the Royal Crypts waypoint. Once there i clear the hallway and go around the square exploring the hallways for more ashes. Good bit of gold to be found from those things

Oh and i also check the damp cellar in old tristam for a goblin or chest

I've been very slowly progressive through Act II Inferno... it's a bitch because most thing 1 or 2 shot me, even normal white mobs.

I've been farming treasure goblins with a group mostly to gear up. Since it's ten times faster than Butcher runs, and drops the same tier of loot. (kind of stupid a treasure goblin drops the same loot as a boss that takes like an hour to get to)

Anyway I was farming the treasure goblin in Act 1 Inferno (same one you guys are talking about, in the damp celler)

But then we found a goblin to farm in Act II (better loot) that is faster to get to and has a higher spawn rate it seems

It's "The Black Soulstone" quest, take the port to Ancient Pathway, walk to the right.. 70% of the time there is a treasure goblin there or right up the hill.

If one person finds the goblin, they clear the area if any mobs. Then everyone joins that person's game, we put on as much MF gear as possible, kill the goblin.
Port back to town, leave game, start again, and rinse repeat.

With this method and 4 people farming it with max MF gear, we were getting about 1 goblin every minute, and about 1-2 rares per.
Although I have the shittiest luck with rares being complete garbage stats for the most part, most I get aren't even auction house worthy.

But it's probably the absolute fastest way to get gear in Inferno in its current state, if you arent geared enough to progress.

Blizzard needs to make it more profitable/better gear to run boss runs for serious.
And Act I Inferno needs a serious tune up in the gear. Because by the time you get to Act II if you don't have like 40k HP and 350+ all resist you are gonna get your shit pushed in.

My fav farm spot for a while was that map in ACT 1, -The Festering Woods-.

There you can find, 1 goblin, 2 events, one of those events spawn rare skeleton. And there are 2-3 more rare packs and blue pack of  creeps spawned randomly. And there are those two smaller caves which both have 1 rare creep pack.
I've coverd it in nightmare.. dont know if HELL and INFERNO have better and more farm possibility.

ACT 4 Crystal Collonade. Run past Leah's Ghost and reach either Kuul, Mira, or (?). Kill ghost, repeat.

ACT 2 Ancient Path. Run up the path until you hit the checkpoint. Restart game over and over, running down the path to the way-point and then teleporting out. Treasure Goblins.

It's worth noting both of these have a much better result with 117% MF.

I could help you. Though we'd still probably need to run past lots of the champions.

I guess I farm the way the developers intended people to farm.  I start from part 3 of Act 1, right when you kill Haedrig's wife, and do the whole act.

I feel its good because the longer I have full stacks of neph valor the better.  I don't want to get five stacks, kill the butcher and leave because I just wasted all that time getting them. With base mf around 100 and five stacks on top of that I almost always get at least 1 rare from every pack and 4+ from every boss.  Not to mention neph valor increases your gold drops too so you make crazy gold drops on top of the rares.

It probably isn't as profitable as pig runs with 4 people but its so much more fun.
