Is there a forum for older people interesed in mushrooms?
    #16330444 - 06/04/12 10:49 AM (11 months, 13 days ago)

I really like the forums and a lot of what I've been reading since I joined, especially about how to find magic mushrooms, how to grow them, and the experiences - good and bad and otherwise.  However, I feel a little out of sync, since so many of you all out there are pretty young. Is there any thread or forum of older people?  My first experiences with psychedelics was in the 1970 listening to Jimi Hendrix, live.

I think you will most likely find that if you post in the other subforums other than the pub and otd, you will USUALLY get fairly mature responses. This is where the kids goof off mostly. Post in psychedelic experience, spirtuality and mysticism, etc. The pub used to be a lot more chill and in my opinion more mature, but now it's mostly just people goofing off. It can be fun for sure, but doesn't sound like what you are looking for.

Thanks, nicechrisman.  I ignore a lot. I have found that the forums you mention are more focused - by that I mean more interesting. I haven't tried the mushrooms yet. I'm a little apprehensive, really. But at the same time, I feel like I can use the aid of the mushrooms to help me see more clearly. I've been confused in general all my life....

But regarding being older: it's so interesting. Old people can get away with a lot of things not tolerated in younger people. We are, I believe, written off. That suits me fine.

So, anyway, thanks for the message. I think there are a lot of really nice people around hereabouts.

The Shroomery needs a geriatric subforum and this thread is proof.

You know, I don't know.  Certainly 40 and above.  But I'm from the time of the Vietnam War, was a kid during the Civil Rights Movement, didn't go to Woodstock, but could have; and listened to Jefferson Airplane and Carlos Santana when they were first doing their music. I just feel that I'd like to know some other people from that era who are now pretty gray and who are checking out mushrooms. Kind of a retro hippie thing, I guess. A lot of us just faded into the crowd during the 1980-1990s.

OP, check your PM.

I'm probably older than you (clutches his $5 bill, hoping there is still a cup of coffee available somewhere,) and I'm here for the same reason as you are.

You have the advantage over me, however, I've never done any psychedelics.  I hope to change that in the not-too-distant future, however.

Good luck in your own search!

You just wait.
Anyway, regardless of the stereotyping from some of you, being older and also interested in using magic mushrooms is an interesting process, to me (which I hope to bring to fruition this month).  I'm curious about other people of advanced age, getting into the retirement time, who are using mushrooms. Are there issues I should be aware of?  What have been your experiences? Am I among just a few, or are there many? What does your significant other think about this, or have you told him or her?  That kind of stuff....

they probably should make an 'older members'/'senior members' forum or something for the golden's to reminisce in peace away from this helldump of childish banter, and we all know TPE is the starting point of most homoeroticism on this website (kidding, but it does have 99% :underage: posts here)

Monmush, I bet I'm older than you.  WTF? You don't appreciate adolescent/20-something humor?  Grow some edibles and have fun, but stay away from the psychedelics.  You're too old.  And visit the funnies thread while you're here.
