ID request Perth Western Australia

Hi, I found these on the weekend. I'm pretty sure they are gymnopilus purpuratus, but i'd like to get some TI's to confirm, or deny.

Found in local bushland, on a rotting log of a local paperbark tree (Melaleuca).
The pics were taken a few days apart. The latter ones are more than two days later, after perfect growing conditions ie. a bit of rain and high humidity.
Purple-ish caps, rusty/yellow spore print, the caps bruise blue in little spots. All as seen in the pics.

Nice one vort! You should save a mushroom and some spores for microscopy.

I've got a few viable prints, willing to trade so look out in the marketplace. Also have one out to try and get some microscopy, but first things first.. want to get a positive ID

Wow great find.
They could be one of several species.
G. purpuratus G. dilepis G. luteofolius G. megasporus G. moabus Possibly a couple of others too.
Here is a paper that covers a lot of information on red-purple coloured Australian Gymnopilus. http://www.australasianmycology.com/pages/pdf/22/2/57.pdf
Hopefully someone that knows Australian gyms a little better might be able to narrow it down a little closer from macroscopic features.

Thanks!
I will read, after a quick glance, yes it could be a couple of those. I'm basing my uneducated assessment on the local fungi group reports taken in the area. http://www.fungiperth.org.au/index.php?option=com_docman&task=doc_download&gid=27&Itemid=
oh and i already bloodworm, hopefully to do some microscopy ;-)

G. purpuratus seems to be quite a common find in Perth, I wonder how often it is labelled that without proper comparisons being done.
If you notice on the pdf you listed they've labelled them Gymnopilus cf. purpuratus.
cf., 'An abbreviation for the Latin word confer, meaning "compare" or "consult" '
ie; it's close enough that it is most likely that, but it could also be something else.
I am sure someone will correct my definition of the usage "cf." that is how I understand it to be though.

I thought they labelled it cf. to get around actually declaring it had psilocybin/psilocin in it ;-p
Still i'd love to get some definitive microscopy done. I've been dropping 12 hour prints and got a few workable ones out, check marketplace or me if you can provide some micro.

Where was it found? If only the forum rules would let me tell you ;-) The general location i'd give is well within the Perth metro area (within 20kms of the cbd).
But seriously, this was on a decomposing log, in a nook, where obviously a high humidity was able to be maintained. So much so two little babies grew out. Then we got lucky with the weather, and got a shit-tonne of rain over the weekend, and the humidity has stayed high with rain all week.
Still these are the first of the season as far as i can tell. Other spots where i know shrooms grow were still bare. Still they wont be far away.

Sadly I don't have a scope yet, it is on the list of things to purchase this year. Hopefully sooner rather then later.
You should have no shortage of folks that would want to scope this beastie out though.

check out this thread>>> http://www.shaman-australis.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=21442&st=175
it is what we call Gymnopilus purpuratus, but it probably actually is not.
