Gravija's Happy Hangover * 2
    #16191882 - 05/06/12 09:41 PM (1 year, 1 month ago)

Gravija drank WAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYY too much rum last night. After three showers, Crying like a little girl and consuming a mostly liquid brunch; I decided there was no way a hangover was gonna keep me down!

This here was an urban foray, folks. Chicago's beautiful, Trash strewn lake front is a massive field habitat sparsely interspersed with trees-

Panaeolina foenisecii

Xylaria polymorpha

ID request 1Coprinellus sp.(ty Arock)

Coprinopsis sp. Parasola auricoma (ty Arock)

Bolbitius ?B. titubans(Ty Arock)

Psathyrella sp.

ID request 2. I was prepared to call this Stropharia sp. Then I remembered that i know jack about mushrooms. The gill edges are serrated.
Agrocybe praecox(Ty Arock)

I assumed the yellow in this picture is staining.

ID request 3

Stinkhorn egg! I was excited.

The bottom

A paper mache bird

I hope you enjoyed. Thanks for looking!!!

Nice one Gravija.

That stinkhorn egg is pretty rad, I am still yet to find a stinkhorn.

I normally end up doing one of three things hungover, Having to work , playing guitar or mushroom hunting.  I kind of like hungover hunts, getting the motivation to actually get out there is a different story

Nice work Gravija. I cant do anything hungover, thats why i quit drinking.

I love threads that have mushroom pics just because they are there, and not because you think it might be active.  Actives are great, but thats not why i hunt, or come to the shroomery. My thanks to you and everyone else that truly loves mushroom hunting, and shares with the world, hungover or not.

Right on oysterizer! I found a big flush of P cinctulus yesterday that I didn't even bother photographing. The stinkhorn egg was way more exciting!

Hangovers blow, but you've got to suck it up and accept the punishment.
Tex, I always get up and play guitar when I'm hungover... until the wife comes in threatens to end me!

Thx for the comments.

Growing up in the woods of coastal Georgia... I was once treed by a momma boar, a BIG pig. I got up on a low hanging branch and almost immediately fell out when I pulled myself up and came face to face with a rat snake thicker than my arm:lol:

I was in that tree until sunset. F'ing boar:mad2:. We lived on the Ogeechee, I remember walking out the door to go to school and turning right around because there would be 3-4 gators sunning in the drive way.

Truth is, Id gladly take that over gun toting 12 year olds and rude ass yankees any day :meffz:

I've got them sussed now, I just look like a dork and wear waterproof pants and jacket over the top of my normal clothes, they just end up falling off. Still freaks me out when I am lying on the ground though, keep thinking I'll get one attach to my eyeball or fly up my nose or some shit.

I hear you man. Ever since I picked up 15 ticks last year, I hunt in all sorts of gear. Permethrin infused clothes that cinch, waterproofs. Knee high boots. The boots are the best- I can boldly go any where with out twitching constantly:lol:

Eeep. I believe ticks can be a problem over here, I've never really encountered them though, at least not that I am aware of.
