may seam stupid to asking but why would u put holes in the bottom of your fruiting chamber...thats where the substrate is waters just going to leak out either that or it wouldnt have any real effect i understand putting holes in the sides and top.
Note: this is me speaking with absolutely no experience so if you disagree please explain what the holes in the bottom are for.

put holes in your fruiting chamber so the water in the perlite (NOT your substrate)can evaporate and it will humidify the air around your cakes. If you are building a MONOTUB (not fruiting chamber) with substrate on the bottom you just need the 4 holes at substrate level and 2 holes towards the top for air exchange. Just follow RR's tek carefully for your first time and it won't steer your wrong and you'll learn why.

If ur using a shotgun fc, which I'm assuming by your question you are, the perlite sits on the bottom not the substrate, the holes on the bottom allow air to flow through the fc. Because of temperature differences inside the fc and the pressure difference outside the fc. All this allows fresh air exchange within the chamber and increases humidity. Hope this answers your question. Not trying to sound like a dick but use the search on the site, hard to find answers sometimes but very useful

As stated before, you only put holes in the bottom of a shotgun fruiting chamber. The layer of moist perlite at the bottom of the chamber creates a low pressure area, and holes in the bottom allow air to move up and through the perlite, humidifying the chamber.
The 1/4" holes aren't big enough for the perlite to fall through, and you shouldn't have standing water in the chamber anyway, so no water leaks out either.

hmm well thanks for everyones reply i plan on going straight to bulk despite what everyone says i have done my research and will continue to do so for another month or 2 until i have the area to do this. I believe what i will be using is monotub not sure about all the terms basicly im going to do the coir tek with vermiculite and coir possibly look into adding other things but probably not anys ill mix that with my spawn then put that in a trashbag which ill be putting into rather large tubs that are clear and let that fit to the tub then leave it to fully colonize then cut off access trash bag set to fruiting of course ill be putting holes in it just didnt think the bottom made sense looks like i wont be doing that probably get a humidifier eventually ganna leave it out at first see if its very helpful
