It seems like my meditative states never follow me to computer use

Not for me. The computer makes me forget myself like drugs do. It's an unconscious pleasure, being fully conscious and happy rules but so often the two don't go together for me.
-------------------- I remember when I believed in meaning
Those days aside the hilltop where the sunlight sky and meadows below spoke promises of eternal future
And I remember the day the world turned on me, how frightened I was and the idiotic surprise I was met with
I should've known!

I see plenty of that around here

it is possible to not be attached to thoughts while using the computer, but inevitably if there is some kind of activity then there is usually some thought activity
its not about getting rid of anything apart from attachment itself once attachment is gone then nothing else needs to go

Only for brief moments. Text on screen keeps demanding thought.

I can become very detached and playful on the computer
like in video games where in the past I was too reactive to trash talk and being trolled by morons now I am much, much better at taking it all with a grain of salt and even counter trolling with just my level of detachment
but those thoughtless awareness/mushin moments don't seem to ever arrive while I am on the comp
