Well I could probably tell you exactly what is going to happen but I don't want to spoil anything! The show follows pretty close to the comic. They take some creative liberties here and there, adding characters, killing others at different times, but the story is really about Rick. What ultimately happens to Rick, I don't even know...I haven't finished reading the comics yet!
Although, I could spoil a lot of stuff but what fun is that

The story is ultimately about Carl.
Major Differences so far:
- Daryl does not exist in the comics. (Robert Kirkman might be trying to introduce him in some new stuff)
- Otis is skinny and outlived Shane in the comics (as opposed to being the fat guy Shane killed early in the season).
- Sofia doesn't die and turn into a Zombie.
- Carl kills Shane a lot earlier. Pretty much the same setup, except Rick doesn't kill Shane first.
- Dale doesn't get eaten by a Zombie on Herschel's farm, he gets bitten during their stay at prison and has his leg amputated, but he survives.
Anyone else think of any major differences? Please things that have only happened so far in the TV series so as to not ruin next season for some.

It is a shame it is not based on a book - I love zombie movies and the walking dead - but i despise reading comics with a passion, I just can not relate to them.

I would actually compare reading a comic to watching it on film.
I can't really get into comics myself and don't see how a book is the same thing as a comic sans pictures.
(early season 2 scene - the Walking Dead)
does not equal
Book needs more kpows.

either way, in the end they are the same. it's a story, told through words and pictures. theres a lot of dialogue and it's a great story. if you are too much of a turd to read it because you don't like comics, then you're missing out.
