You guys are so picky. I thought it quite clever to have the "jacket earned" phase in the beginning, where they cut half the contestants almost immediately. Seems like it helps determine who can really shine in the Top Chef environment, which like it or not, is different than a regular kitchen environment. 
I thoroughly enjoyed the season (as I have all of the seasons). No complaints here, keep it coming!

I thought the initial elimination rounds were good too. It was a quick filter, and according to the casting team, they've done it for alot of previous seasons, it was just never taped until now.

I dug the "Last Chance Kitchen" thing. I'm all for tweaking the game a little bit. The problem with the way they did the earning the jacket thing in the beginning is that we have no emotional connection to any of the people competing so there's no impact when someone makes it or not. See, I cared when Grayson got in because there was a bit of a journey with her before that point. The way they did this thing in the beginning felt too American Idol-ish to me. I don't care for that format at all.
As far as Vegas, even if you didn't have the Volt Bros, Jen Carroll and Kevin were next level. I think either of them would have crushed in any other season. I was really bummed when Jen got cut so early on All-Stars.
Blais is the king though.

I'm just saying instead of inundating the show with filler mediocre talent the producers/judges should do a better job of picking the contestants so we are not left with that dumbass from a couple seasons back that made an "amuse bouche" out of a whole apple the he stuffed with more fruit. Improve the quality of the contestants instead of trying to modify a show formula that has worked for many seasons.
