I commented on a thread similar to this in the anonymous forum but I thought I would put it in the pub for better and more intelligent thoughts on the subject but what I posted was something like:
"I tell my friends that deal and mess around with illegal shenanigans that 95% or people that get arrested for something somewhat serious narc. Also I say that 3% of people narc even if there not in trouble just because their assholes. And 90% of neighbors or good Samaritans that don't even indulge in illegal activities narc to keep their neighborhoods clean if they think something is up. And the sad thing is im probably estimating on the low end."
Everyone of my friends say they would never narc, buy I will never put the security of myself in what they say. You got to be careful, very careful. And if anyone that reads this that puts themselves in danger by getting locked for what they do reads this, I hope they seriously consider what I'm posting.
Another thing that irks me is when I might point out a cop car, for instance, or something along those lines, with my friends in the car and were holding, and they say, "man stop worrying, your way to cautious". Well most of my friends that say that have been busted multiple times. I have never been busted nor do I intend to be busted anytime soon. And I attribute this because I "worry too much". I also am quite sure that my idiot friends that tell me this garbage will be busted again and again. And every time I talk to them after they get in trouble I tell them this exact same thing. It seems to stick a day or two then their right back to doing what they do. How many times does it take for someone to get the picture.

No point in telling the police anything they have no control after you're arrested so why add to the problem.

I wouldn't, but on the other hand I never do anything that would land a bigger punishment then a few weeks of drug court.

allow me to elaborate.
I would narc to a prosecutor after my own lawyer arranged for some kind of deal and judge had approved of it.

It takes a real fuckin man to not narc on their supply but they are few and far between...most would narc in a heart beat to save their own ass but there are some people out there that would never say shit just to fuck the system of how shit is done. Regardless your just one person of many up and down the chain and if you get time your the one doing that shit for real...

When I got busted I did not narc (ounces of mushrooms and a scale)... And guess what, I still got my shit expunged. Honestly, ratting will not help you...hiring a good lawyer will.

I got narced on by a guy who got busted for just an underage drinking charge. I'm happy to say that I didn't turn in my supplier much to the chagrin of the cops. To make a long story short, I got the charges knocked down to simple possession and a paraphernalia charge. Them piggies were piiiiiiissssssssed!
