Autumn has just arrived and brought an abnormal amount of rain with it. Does anybody know how long until the cubes rise roughly around the Melbourne area?

Not too sure myself either, but i think it should be somewhere between mid-march to early april. Yeah it has been raining a LOT lately which is good for mushroom pickers

Questoins like this are against the forum rules

But to answer your question.... it will be a very very long time until Psilocybe cubensis (cubes) start growing around Melbourne. They only grow in the tropics/subtropics. Try looking for Psilocybe subaeruginosa. The season starts around late Autumn.

Does anybody know what climate details to look out for such as temp, humidity, barometric pressure and anything else that I may not have mentioned? It's a bit of a drive to go picking and I'd just like to increase my chances by timing it right.

If Psilocybe cubensis start growing that far south(naturally) then you will most likely have a lot more to worry about than finding shrooms.
Do some research on Psilocybe subaeruginosa, and you are still a bit early so use that time to learn as much as you can.
