If this is the wrong forum feel free to move it.
So here it is, my makeshift windowfarm With some free empty milk cartons from work
Cut the top off, poke 8 holes on the sides(one near the top one near the bottom of each corner) then thread some hemp through four holes on the bottom of the carton for drainage. repeat until you fill your window.
do this for as many milk cartons as you wish and here is your finished product.
now all that's left is a water pump(optional), dirt, and whatever plant you want. Thank you http://our.windowfarms.org/tag/officialhow-tos/ for the inspiration some examples of others

I am looking for land. 5-20 acres for 10-20,000. Can you help? do you know of any land for sale? do you have some for sale? Would you like to help and or be part of this? I want to develop it into a permaculture food forest. Any help would be much appreciated.

That's pretty badass, I've never seen that kind of set-up before. Are you planning on using dirt and watering manually?

Nice man, I was thinking of planting some HBWR on the top so the vines could wrap around the strings as it grows.
Im not going to hook up any water pump with my current living situation it would be too many wires and too much hassle so its all going to be manual, which is what I want so im more active in my hobby's. But in the future I plan on having these things line my windows with fully automatic watering.

When I was in Costa Rica many years ago, there was a guy taking the large plastic soda bottles and cutting holes in the sides for plants. He would then spray them with lacquer or some adhesive and roll them in sand. They would come out looking like old jugs covered in sand.
He would then hang them with jute and fill them up with soil and put plants in them..

I've seen these growing strawberries hydroponically.
If I had a window that didn't face north I'd set one up myself.

I'm going to try this out
I wish I could afford the cost of lamps so I could grow all year around...
