so, i just got a new comp. not too long ago, and for some reason when i try and plug my head phones into the little head phone jack (or whatever its called) on the speakers, the head phones dont work. when i plug my head phones in all the way it doesnt work, then, i pull them out about half way and the head phones work, but the plug just falls out. so i was just wondering, can i can get some sort of little adaptor or something to make my head phones work? or is it just fuct? thanks, mez.

Its the speaker jack not your headphones. Years ago I had a stereo with the same problem. I had to hold my headphone half way out of the jack. Even then only the left ear piece played
My suggestion would be to try another stereo and plug the headphones into a different sound source.
Good Luck Lana

I have the same problem on my stereo & a computer sub, it's a bent contact inside the jack. If you can disassemble the casing around the jack, you may be able to see which contact isn't in contact w/the plug, and bend that contact back. I couldn't do it on my stereo unfortunately, the output jacks are blocked all in with chipboards. blast.
hope this helps

Why not try plugging your headphones into the back of the comp where the speakers plug in? Its the same size plug. It werks! I use this method to unhook my reciever from my comp at like 3 am so I don't wake the neighbors

yeah, a friend of mine suggested to do that a while ago, and it did work. its not the best quality for some reason, but it works!
