 Salvia Drug Gaining More Attention

Campbell Co., VA - Salvia Divinorum is a plantthatcan berolledand smoked or eaten to produce an instant high. Some say it is as potent as LSD, and some wonder if Salvia is to blame for actress Demi Moore's recent 911 call.
The drug is illegal in the state of Virginia, but it is not too hard to get.
In 2010, singer Miley Cyrus smoked it, and the video of her doing it went viral.
"A lot of young kids associate themselves with Hollywood or where they want to be and of course it lends a trend to the uptake of it," said Captain Billy Crowe with the Campbell County Sheriff's Office. "The high can last anywhere from one minute to 30 minutes all depending on the dose and your sensitivity."
There are a slew of videos on YouTube of what appears to be high school-aged kids high on salvia.
"It's a plant that's grown in Mexico, and South and Central America. And it actually looks like an herb that would be in your kitchen cabinet," Crowe said.
It looks just like oregano or sage when chopped up. But Crowe says it can really cause some damage.
"It also contributes to decreased heart rate, decreased breathing, loss of consciousness," Crowe said. "One said that he thought he was an icecream cone, floating across the field chasing other ice cream cones."
"It just looks like an extreme high," said Brianna Brimm, an E.C. Glass High School student.
"I would never try something like that. I don't want to hallucinate just to get high," said Raven Francis, a student at E.C. Glass High School.
Officials say the target market is teenagers.
"Middle school though school students who don't have the same access to street level drugs," Crowe said.
It can be ordered online.
"They'll label the package or the box, 'Not for human consumption - incense,'" Crowe said.
He says the drug only costs about $10 for a full dose, making it even more appealing to kids.

Oh my god this is making people think there ice cream cones and they target children just like the dirty tobacco companies. Let's ban salvia!

A kilo of dry powder costs about 100-125. If you just wanna try it, you can buy an ounce for $10 or so. That's a decent dose. Just chew it up into a quid, add half a shot of alcohol, keep it in there, and don't swallow for 15 minutes.
Smoking works too, but imo you're guaranteed to have a good time if you chew it.

Bull, how did they get that these drugs were targeting teens.Looks like sage My butt it is sage just a different variety to the kitchen one. Bummer it is illegal in Australia oh well New Zealand here I come.

don't laugh I don't think he would lie about being an ice-cream he would risk looking like an idiot this would be terrifying he could have melted or even been eaten.

If it was eaten, the high would not be instant.
