Like most (I suspect) I started on shroomery for the vast amount of cultivation information (lurking for 1 year before joining).
I remain here, to continue amassing information. But, admittedly, the ridiculous bater that goes on OTD is a great outlet for calling people out on their blatent ineptness.

Marijuana debates deserves a spot. It never fails to amuse me seeing 20 random stoners crawl out of the woodwork at a moment's notice to defend their precious weed against whoever decides to be the naysayer in that thread.

I joined in 2006 when looking for thumbprints news. Couldn't get through to chinacat then and seems to have gone now. I love the posts in the psychedelic experience section. Makes me feel all fuzzy to know so many people do psychedelics and benefit from it.
I recently thought the pub would be one of those generic lounge type places but I suppose with such a low number of females it really can have a feel of a segregated community. It would be great to meet some relatively intelligent, chilled pot smoking, psychedelically minded female folk even if it is just online. Women into stuff with a lust for life.
But I do like something about this forum. It's rare in modern London life to meet people who've ever tripped and I do find that most people who have tripped, especially from in their teens do tend to have an oomph or a sparkle to them. Even if they sometimes are dicks.

I enjoy the shroomery for two reasons. When I'm in a sharp mood and want to have an intellectual conversation there are people here to have them with. When I want to post pointless things and talk about nonsense there are people here to do that with. With the good part put aside, I dislike social hierarchy, people getting butt hurt about peoples opinions, and most of all people who join into conversations to contribute absolutely nothing to it. You kids with your hip lingo call that one thread jacking I believe. Regardless, all three of these things are in abundance here(as well as everywhere else I suppose), and is the part I don't particularly like.
