So i have 1lb bags of Orissa India grain spawn just about ready to be moved to bulk. I'm concerned that my manure bags wont arrive sooner than next week so I'd like to try something new. I remembered seeing this tek from a long while ago when I first learned about bulk substrates. I just had a few dumb questions, straighten me out!
- Would half this recipe work for a 10gal mono or is it not enough? I only have 2 1lb bags of grain for this specific strain so I couldnt do the 5 quarts it calls for. - Lid on or off during colonization? This is not mentioned in the tek, does he put the bag over it without the lid or what? - Compared to manure, how is the yield/potency?

1/2 should work for you. Just cut the entire recipe in half. Lid on & leave it outta the bag. Tape the holes & let the lid take care of GE. Light has been shown to be beneficial to mycelium at all stages. Yield's great & I've never had a problem w/ potency.

awesome man, thanks for the response. im sure your tek will help me tons. ll let you know what i think as soon as i get home and have time to kill ill study it up. check out my grow i started, the bags are almost fully colonized
