I definitely agree with this. Its also very circumstantial. I found myself with a xanax problem when i was at a low point in my life. This is why I'm not scared to try heroin in the right time in my life. I've smoked a fair bit of meth in my time, but never at one point did I find myself addicted at all.
Definitely...
In my opinion, addiction lays within the person much more so than the drug, people are always quick to blame the drug. I have dabbled with opiates for the past few years, everything from hydrocodone to oxymorphone to heroin. Never using for more than a few days in a row, and always taking breaks for a few days to weeks to even a month in between use.
I do use kratom every day, but as I mentioned before I use it in a manner of helping with my depression and anxiety. Since I keep my dosage consistent and don't increase it as my tolerance goes up, after a few weeks or so I don't even really notice much of a buzz, it just keeps me "level". But I have heard stories of some people taking 15g+ to 20g+ a day for several months and going through some nasty withdraws when they tried to quit. Sure it's not as bad as the withdraws from heroin or potent pharmaceutical-opiates, but still not the funnest thing to go through....The main alkaloid in kratom, 7-hydroxymitragynine, is said to be 17-fold more potent than morphine, so keep that in mind. It is a rather benign plant, but abuse it and things won't be fun...
