from 72 grams of grain came 63 grams of dried....yes...water was added and allowed to soak for 12 hours, then it was carefuly drained offby pinching the bag just above the substrate....the top was folded over and held with tape.
make sure the water is sterile...

it was 63 grams by my scale....they may not have been 100% dry, they were air dried for 6 days, but that was from 5 flushes...all from a single bag of WBS, most of the previous times it's been a little smaller but only by 5-10 grams...

I'm tellin ya...I've had great luck with the bags....

From 72 grams of dry grain?
I find this impossible.

63 dry grams would equal 630 wet grams, which is (i'm doign the math quick here) around a lb and a half of wet shrooms from just a bit over three ounces of substrate? Thats alot of shrooms. five flushes tho? I dunnno... thats possible. *Shrug*

I used one of those myco-bags for shits and giggles and only got three flushes and a little over three ounces. A pound and a half from one bag, hard to believe, but whatever.

from about 700g of grain (a 1 litre jar), spawned into straw, i got about the same dried as you did. you sure you're not missing a decimal point?

Damn....I f$%ked up...it was 197 grams of substrate....and 63 grams dried, cambodians....it was a mix of whole oats and steel cut oats, soaked in a 100% solution of honey water....PC'd fo 55 minutes at 15psi...incubated at 87F for 44 days, it was fruited at 76F and the first flush was 11g, 2nd was 15.5 which is the first bag in the series reading 32grams...bag weighed 6g....second bag is 3-4-5 totaling 14.5, 12, 11, also in a 6gram bag, bags were marked with project #2-3.4

in this experiment the honeywater from soaking the grain was poured into quart jars and topped with distilled water, the jars were sterilized for 20 minutes and allowed to cool then refridgerated until needed...between flushes the bags were soaked with the honeywater solution for 8 hours....the soak were done in a positive pressure glove box filled with nitrogen gas....bags were drained with a spring clip and allowed to drain for 1 hour....they were then resealed and oxygen was injected through the septa via one of the hose connection....additional flushes were not made because I had screwed up somewhere and allowed to to contaminate....and it ripped through....

I wish I still had access to that glovebox....the guy that owned it sold high end medical equipment overseas....mostly used x-ray equipment...anyway...I went through one of my storage rooms today and dug out the notes, supprised I got the right set.....below are the pics and when the fruits were harvested all were pulled, everything was done in a laboratory environment and the scale was back from calibration just a couple of weeks earlier...it was an ohaus navigator series with 8kg capacity and .5g resolution and that will explain the mathmatical discreppency....

there was a great deal that I left out in the previous post, some I had even forgotten like the exact weights and the substrate mixture, I've done so many stupid experiments over the last few years it gets hard to keep up and notes arent something I like to keep around, I am actualy kinda suprised I had found these but also found my copy of TMC....x-ray man has some of my notes and alot of the photos on CD, I have a summary of the project until his wife gets over being pissed about me keeping him out too much....and the sack of smoke she found in his car....

thank you...that actual means alot coming from you....but I cant help it...too much brain cooking over the years....actualy from legitimate stupidity....still want that damn box....5 gas inlets....the price he wanted....I'd have to live in it....believe it or not...I drove 150 miles for that answer....because after you guys started on me I was thinking...no...I am wrong....I gotta find out.....but I also had to take my wife to visit her family...sign off my old house and pick up more useless junk I will never use....thanks for kicking my butt....
