Surrendering to something

I've realized I have to give myself entirely up to something, but It doesn't matter what I give myself up to. It can be a passion, or anything, that I surrender to and trust. I'm giving myself up to the ideal of Truth. What I surrender to is the life mission of devoting myself to truth and knowledge however I can best do that. Sometimes it's when I play the saxophone. Sometimes it's when I work on science. Sometimes it's when I'm taking a shit and thinking about things. But I think Truth is a worth while ideal to give myself up to.

I have so much energy and I don't know what to do with it! It feels like I got to keep channeling this energy somewhere or else it just gets build up.

the way i see things now, surrendering means coming to terms with something. using the term surrendering is almost like saying i'm submitting to something. surrendering, coming to terms with, submitting, same stuff. the word surrendering sounds sweet to my ear though... think about it. good or bad things can happen depending on what we chose to surrender to. there's so much truth and knowledge out there and it's all subjective, well maybe not all knowledge. i used to deep think while on the crapper too. between to poor diet and the medications i used to have to take, i'd sit on the crapper for 5 minutes sometimes. but now that i've changed my lifestyle and and have been off the meds for awhile now i shit so quickly i don't have time to think about shitting let alone the universe... no, seriously, i'm literally off the bowl in less then 5 seconds tops, i can't surrender under those conditions any longer, there's just no time. i'm just kidding man, i understand the point you were trying to make. but i do shit in 5 seconds...

I surrender to my nature.

I read this quote recently about surrender & liked it
All this talk of surrender is like pinching a jaggery image of Lord Ganesha and offering it as neivedya to the same Lord. You say you offer your body, soul and all possessions to God. Were they yours that you could offer them?

Well you do have 2 choices: to serve or not to serve, to be grateful or not to be; And you know what nature does with worker ants that slack off

Just an ideal that may never be reached. I could say truth is opposite to delusion. So anything can be an expression of truth, i.e. science. Science is not perfect, but it's a lot less deluded then religion. It's just some ideal that I can feel I can put my energy towards. For awhile I was disillusioned by most ideals, but I think working towards truth and reducing suffering is an ideal that I can surrender to.

I wish I could do that but alas, I'm young and too energetic. I need a good out lit to deal with all this pend up energy.
