The String Cheese Incident
    #15476471 - 12/06/11 09:03 PM (1 year, 5 months ago)

Hey. So I have the opportunity to go a String Cheese Incident tomorrow night.

I'm a big big fan of the Grateful Dead and have seen Furthur 3 times now. I really dig what they do and I really like the whole furthur/GD thing, whatever it is that they do.

Also whenever my buddy plays cheese on his ipod I generally dig it.

That being said I've never really listened to them in depth.

Also I've really been wanting to get into more of the jamband scene I suppose. I've seen Moe...didn't really do much for me. I saw Keller Williams too and liked him but again it wasn't anywhere near as cool as the furthur show.

I guess my question is..Is it worth 50 bucks to see String Cheese Incident? Are they that good. That's almost as much as I paid for Furthur. I'd really like to go and appreciate them..but if they suck I would hate to feel like I wasted my money.

So let me know what you all think of them.

I have a friend that is in the same situation as you and he is at a SCI show right now. It seems like a good time, I wish I could go. I'll let you know if he likes it but I'd say go for it.

I saw them in ATL and Athens this tour. Do not miss this. They are playing very well and are having a lot of fun. The ATL show was one of my favorite shows of all time. Good luck to you.

Man I hope they do a summer tour. Apparently, they're working on a new album, and I think a summer tour is imminent. That being said, Telluride and Denver are both easy drives for me and if they play anywhere in Colorado I'm there. Never seen SCI, but I've seen every side project the members have ever done and met Travis, Haan, and Nershi. Can't wait to finally see them.

EOTO is pretty cool -- seen them a few times. I was more into Travis's other livetronica project Zilla. It's a lot more mellow, and doesn't have the dubstep and breakbeat elements that EOTO has. Plus the electric hammer dulcimer is fucking rad.

I have high hopes for Colorado this summer, and I just got promoted at my job

It's gonna be hard to top last year -- caught the Disco Biscuits at Red Rocks (and took a lot of mushroom goo at that show), and 3 nights of Phish at Dick's. Would love to see Cheese do a Red Rocks show this summer.
