 Questions Regarding Agar Consistency -Grocery Store Agar Tek

What's up everyone. Quick question for you all who have worked with agar before. I tried out the grocery store agar tek but couldn't get anything to grow. My thoughts are that the agar solution was too thick. What should the consistency be like? Jello, wax, somewhere in between?

Slightly firmer than jello for cloning tissue.
But for germinating spores, I'd say go with softer like jello.

Appreciate the feedback, SKrink. My solution came out way to thick. It was like hard wax after it cooled. I guess next time I should use less agar.
