 Shroomery Chat Client

I've recently finished a skeleton for a custom, convenient, and simple Shroomery Chat Client, to be used as an alternative from Java Chat (which can be very confusing as many will testify), or an advanced client such as mIRC, ten times more confusing for many.
I've tossed this idea back and forth with Ythan for a few years now and I'm finally gonna get it done so it can be available for the public (open source as well). As an IRC moderator myself, I know that this easy to use program will make it FAR easier for computer-illiterate users to hop on Shroomery Chat without needing a complex program or pain-in-the-ass web chat to find channels such as #cultivation or others!
I'm coding it in VB (go ahead and trash talk, but it gets the job done fine), and I need someone who is good with graphics to create a skin based on the website's main theme, as well as buttons, images to go in the list boxes such as channels/users.

Everything is in one window, rather than mdi windows in mIRC, auto connects to the shroomery only... brings up popular channels easy to find. etc.
Please don't reply if you have nothing good to say.. the completed program will be posted on the main website and I need some quality help from a graphic designer. So reply here or hit me up on the chat (soli) if you have any suggestions or want to help!

Not sure where to mention this, but there is no longer a #shroomery drop-down option on the text chat page.
it defaults at #cultivation.

it defaults at #cultivation??? i dunno man I haven't noticed any difference in how many guests come in #shroomery asking how to get to #cult... in fact #cult is slightly opposed to the idea "because it will make it easier for retards to get there" (i can sympathize since it's one of the more legit channels)... but still, you don't need to be great with computers to grow mushrooms..

yeha mav! and i was wrong, apparently #cultivation is the default on the web client.
I really need someone to help me do the DESIGN and graphics for it tho, that resembles the shroomery website. I've already got the harder part of the code done, so the rest will be a synch. I doubt it will support file transfer on the first version, and there will not be script support since the idea is for this to be simple, gui.
i plan on it looking great completed =)

Ok few ideas, this is TMA btw.
linking the program to a shroomery account. so all names in a channel are links to that individuals profile.
And in terms of the skin, mabie something trippy like mushrooms growing over the chat window (not obscuring of course) or the eye of providence, the triangle eye thing on the us one dollar bill beaming out beams of psycadelic light

Its only changed as of this past week at my request.
I can go into details of why I requested that change in the irc forum or in the staff channel, but it had unanimous support from the parties that were consulted.
I promise you that #cult will continue to be "legit", "retards" will continue to not be tolerated.

I don't mean to speak for soli, but this just isn't feasible to implement at this point in time, given the nature of the irc server at this point in time. Don't get me wrong, I like the idea but to make such a thing happen would require some major restrictions to be put into place on the irc server.

Maybe we should add a thing to the topic in #cultivation that says "FOR GENERAL CHAT, JOIN #SHROOMERY" or something. So noobs see it upon entering (in case they have no desire for cultivation chat and just want to bullshit).

Okay, got most of the bugs worked out.
Here is an updated copy of the client. Right now it only can Join and send msgs to channels.
Next, Ill be coding a menu, and other random custom stuff.. channel listing, lots more to do but the hrd part is over.
Feel free to design a layout for this and post suggestions !!! The best way I can describe what I need is, if you ever used one of them AOL/AIM proggies back in the day, remember how they often had textured sides/top bar, as opposed to a standard window? and also had cool buttons ???
I need THAT! contact me on IRC or reply if you got time. Feel free to design and paste a layout/skin or whatever so I can turn this from a windowsy looking program into a custom shroomery prog

update:
I added a newb friendly way to register your nickname without needing to know nickserv commands.
also, i'm thinking about including an entire list of all channels on the channel list, and simply grey out the channels the user is not in. and you can highlight them and read description in tooltip text.

Are you using my suggestion as the name?  Shroomchat!!!!! (As if no one else would have named it this). Also I think this is like my 400th post. 
Edit: I see you are that's cool hehe. How involved are you wanting to make the client? Just a replacement for the webchat, or possibly something that would make someone switch from vanilla mIRC?

i only can see people switching away from mirc if thy are pissed off at its complexity... this will be a very good looking ez to use irc software, custom and one of a kind
and yeah, i think ShroomChat is the best name for it. good idea ill include you in the creditz

ps: I figure that it wouldn't be too hard to make a version of this for the Growery.. all I would need to do are change the default channels and I'd need a 2nd skin/buttons set matching Growery's design...
I know you graphic designers are out there! Im just asking for a background, menu bar OR buttons , and some more buttons.. and labels.
