 PENIS ENVY -- Monotub x4 + Mini Monotub (Pics) [Updated 9/24]

Hey guys. This is my first run at Penis Envy.
This monotub was spawned on 9/1 and allowed to colonize until 9/12. Seven quarts of WBS inoculated via PE LC was spawned to hpoo/coir/verm/gypsum/worm castings/coffee. There was about 10 quarts of bulk sub, making this an almost 1:1 ratio.
 
The sub was wetter than I prefer upon birthing, there was some residual pooling initially as well as what appears to be ejected metabolites. Smells really good, though. I had my polyfill too tight in the top holes of this tub while it was colonizing, I don't normally have pooling like this. Will make sure to keep it looser next time. Been giving it a lot of FAE.
This monotub was mixed up on 9/15. Seven quarts of WBS inoculated via PE LC was spawned to about 12~ quarts of coir/verm/gypsum/worm castings.
 
 
I will be replicating the exact parameters in 2 other identical monotubs, with the exception that one will have 6 quarts of spawn as opposed to 7. I prepare my coir using Damion5050's coir tek. I prefer to use horse manure as well as spent coffee grounds in my grows, but 3+ hours spent properly pasteurizing such a sub is so much more tedious than simply pouring boiling water into a 5 gallon bucket. I've had great success with the simpler coir sub in the past, and never any contamination.
  
A little about my spawn. All spawn was inoculated with an extra LME liquid culture. This has been some of the most rhizo growth I have ever seen. Time from inoculation to shake was 7 days, then 5 days from shake to spawn. I like to do my grains just a LITTLE bit on the dry side so I can really fill the jar up with a LC inoculation. I use about 4cc's per jar of thick LC.
  
Three quarts of said LC was inoculated with 3.33cc's of Penis Envy. A story on this Penis Envy - I had ordered just normal penis envy, not anything special (aka ape, pe6, etc), but when I received my syringe in the mail it was labeled as "Penis Envy 69". This has me a bit thrown off, so there is no telling what has actually been growing all this time.
Notice in the first and second picture you can see where the submerged mycelium has started to grow above the water/LME line. I am really hoping that the organism attempts to form a pin out of these "islands" of myc. As you can see in the third pic, a side effect of swirling the jar to break apart the organism seems to be mycelium growing all on the sides of the jar. It doesn't seem to be a problem.
  
It took 2 days from MS inoculation to see visible mycelium forming in the LC. Just straight water/extra LME here, no dextrose or anything else. It is quite thick.
 
I have been very interested in trying a mini monotub ever since I saw PrimalSoup's favorable results using them. I'm using coir as the sub in this, basically Damion5050's coir recipe cut in 1/4. The spawn is Amazonian MS inoculated WBS. The MS syringe was well over 3 months old, and only 1.5cc's at that. It had been exposed to frequent 100+ degree temperatures.
 
 
I taped the bottom of this mini monotub with black duct tape, to reduce side pinning.
Well that's it for now. I'll post back every 2 or 3 days with new pics and progress report. Tomorrow afternoon I will be spawning the second of the 3 monotubs along with the mini monotub, with the third monotub following a couple days after that. Any advice is welcome.

Very well put together project! I would love to see some fruit! I just started my 1st monotub and have a tray of PE on the way. Love the substrate too! I just do coir/verm for my trays & tub. Can't wait to play with the mix

Just an update:
I spawned that jar of Amazonian to the mini monotub 9/15.
  
Here it is just 48 hours later.
  
Also mixed up a couple more tubs, bringing the count up to 4 monos - three colonizing and one in fruiting.
The one in fruiting is starting to show the first signs of primordia. I don't like the way the sub looks in the tub that is fruiting at all, it is stained the color of metabolites. Gross.

 Cool. Looking good! And (what a strange world ) my very next grow is...PE (uncut).
I think I'll be putting out some monotubs with this cycle as well, and I like to keep things simple because...simple succeeds.

A quick update:
As you can see, the first tub has started to show pinning, although "blobbing" may be a more correct term.
  
It took 6 days for pinning to start once fruiting conditions were introduced. That was four days ago. As you can see, there has been some metabolite staining with this tub, as well as cracks in the surface of the sub, as you can see in the last picture. I've increased the misting schedule and tightened the polyfill - hopefully problem solved.
  
The other 3 monotubs are happily colonizing. Two are at 7 days, and the third is at 2 days of colonization. Not worth taking a picture of that, it's just black tubs.
Ok, so the mini mono is turning out really good. The substrate looks very healthy, with no pooling water. It too has been colonizing for 7 days. I will probably introduce fruiting conditions tomorrow or the day after.
 
But yeah, that's it so far. Just playing the waiting game! I'll update once I have some fruits growing.

A quick update:
Today I birthed the mini monotub! I could see pins starting to form, so I decided it was ready. It colonized for 9 days and the sub looks very healthy and strong. This is Amazonian.
  
I have a good feeling that I will be eating fruits off this mini mono before I do off my 4 Penis Envy monotubs. The PE takes much longer to grow than I could have ever anticipated.

I like...
Those blobs are crazy looking. No experience with pe, is this some type of genetic abnormality we see? My redspore culture likes to leave odd growths that immediately abort, the pins that fruit are normal looking though.
