I voice my opinions on all games equally.
Right now I have concerns about Diablo 3's "selling items for real money in game" thing;
and Oblivion's "we removed even more skills" thing.
The list goes on.
Both are very complex issues. Notice you conveniently read over the part where I said Dark Souls would be a good, well-polished, but ultimately forgettable game.
Your issue seems to be that I don't buy it. You're butthurt that I'm calling you out for saying Dark Souls is going to "own all those games" - Which, btw, since you didn't say otherwise, includes the blockbuster titles.
Also, you don't even know your own shit, and I have played Demon Souls. It was a wholly unremarkable adventure game that was barely memorable and brought absolutely nothing new to the table.
Dark Souls is the follow-up to Demon Souls, both of which are predated and built upon the universe of Kings Field (which I have also played, btw) there are ->6<- games in that series, not two.
Kings Field was likely one of the most important games in console history, because it was one of the first modern full-polygon free-roaming first-person adventure role playing games. Demon Souls removed much of what made Kings Field great, so if they go back to the roots of the series they might have a sleeper hit on their hands. More likely, Dark Souls will be forgotten in five years like all the other cookie-cutter games that share it's genre.
You're gonna sit here and rag on Call of Duty for being the "50th same game" and then rep a classic style game that's been done ad nausea a thousand times before. Really? Both are equally rehashes.

When you say it's going to "own" the other games, you imply a lot. Nobody's putting words in your mouth.
Yes, I'm "butthurt" because something I'm really going to enjoy is going to come out very soon. Your logic is flawless.

Spyro was my all time favorite series back in the PlayStation 1 and 2 days.
Wait, what's this?..... http://www.skylandersgame.com/
Looks like it's geared towards a younger audience and they're using toys to unlock certain characters... what have they done to Spyro?
I'm not even giving this one a chance...
Can't wait for Skyrim though.

For example, you could play the same exact adventure game you've played a dozen times before... Defeat the Dark Evil! Get the Sword Of Biggerness!
Or you could get something with some flavor.
There is a LOT of unique stuff available right now.
Holy shit, there's a new Twisted Metal.
I am down for vehicle combat. It'[s been a while on that genre.
Where are my space sims though

I have high expectations for skyrim. I even have a vague hope they can redeem themselves after making morrowind, and then giving us oblivion. I mean oblivion was really good. But it wasnt near as good as morrowind.

That's really more a matter of taste. I cannot quite go back to Morrowind after Oblivion...and on that pointe can hardly go back to Oblivion after Fallout 3.
Skyrim is almost certainly going to have controversy over it simply because of how high the standards are being held, even if it's absolutely steller many purists of earlier titles in the series WILL find details to complain about.

Yup, people are already finding reasons to hate on it, but it's bethesda, you know it will be quality. I for one cannot wait for it.

This year has already been amazing for games, and it's only gonna get better. That said, the last few years have all been amazing. We've had Mass Effects, Assassin's Creeds, Gears of Wars, Fallouts, Dragon Ages, Bioshocks... But this year is awesome for gamers Skyrim will be game of the year.

i think they are delaying shit alot more then they use too, just awhile ago it was big game release after another, guess the gaming industry figured out if they keep pushing out mediocre game after another they won't make much money. hopefully there delaying to make games better
year of gaming?ehh i am more disappointed in everything that comes out.

Well, heres my deal with it. I feel like morrowind had such an outstanding storyline, but the gameplay was lacking. With oblivion, I feel the storyline was lacking yet the gameplay was superb. I just hope the storyline whoops ass, and the gameplay does too in skyrim. Like someone said, Bethesda always makes good games though.
