RMAH. Real money auction house. A build in item auction house that let's you spend $4.99 on that shiny new sword you couldn't find. Oh and blizzard takes a % cut of every transaction.
I'll just go ahead and scribble that game off my list.
VERY disappointed. Blizzard is my favorite.
They even deleted my post on the D3 forums concerning my concern about this horrible idea.

Blizzard is out for money, they are one of the top companies around. They know people will buy it so why not profit from it? TF2 has the manco store and dumbasses buy hats and other usuless pixel items on there all the time which arn't required at all to have fun in the game. Yeah its gay but whatever its not like you are forced to buy the items. Charging monthly for online games seems worse to me than this (although I don't play WoW etc.)

A monthly fee was justifiable for extra content.
D3 won't be monthly, but they also won't have new content. It is a randomly generated endless dungeon. At least until they plop out an expansion.
Either way, I lost a lot of respect for them. And they lost my $60.
I'm glad pay to play custom maps didn't happen with SC2, but they should not have shoved that same thought process into another one of their games.

I think this could be a very good or a very bad thing, and that the jury is out.
You should probably not miss out just because they implement a feature you don't like when it's optional.
Think about allllllll the time you wasted grinding for a set piece. Think about the two dollars you spend on coffee with no second thought.
it's my opinion that as long as their cut stay extremely small (confirmed) and it stays difficult to actually churn cash out of the system (confirmed) and the item prices are limited to a low 5$ maximum, it's fine. If I start to see items go for $100 I will be upset, because that creates a massively unfair market where people with absurd amounts of money to blow are the only ones allowed to join in the reindeer games.

It's non-profit for them, more or less. The amount they take away from it will be barely more than what it costs to operate if at all. That much is confirmed.

Seems like games are meant to be fucked up these days.. 
Why would you care about the auction house and items.. I mean, thats all cool and stuff. But Diablo games for me were always about the story and the atmosphere, characters and skills, not about the items.. not that much at least, you know.
If I get the chance to play it, once it comes out, Im not gonna even take a look at that auction house or whatever its name is.. cuz why would I care, about items other people found. I did not, but I can try.. the other way around.. the hard way. It more fun like that

It's just a way to improve trading and discourage out-of-game items-for-money sales, that create lots of scams.

I think its an awesome idea. As the producer of this game would you want people to make thousands of dollars selling items for their own profit or just sell items in game where it's safer and more secure. Now I can own little kids who dont have a credit card number with my elite stockpile of paid-for items... Muhahahahaa

What you guys don't understand is that the items that will be selling for that price range have a .01% or less drop rate. Whoever is farming items to make money and replace any sort of a job will need to be playing 24/7 and that's not an exaggeration.
People will not make that much money on this and the items being bought for that price is a fucking steal. No reason to cry about something that isn't going to define this game in any way.
Bottom line is in caps so all can see BLIZZARD AND THE PEOPLE PLAYING DIABLO 3 WILL HARDLY BE MAKING THAT MUCH MONEY ANYWAY SO STOP CRYING ABOUT IT.
People will still spend way more money on free to play games with in game stores that improve your experience. This will be an underlying way for people without the time to farm items to buy what they want.

I don't see why people get so emotionally involved in issues like this. If you don't like it don't use it. Pretty simple.
A comic I found funny about another common complaint.
Oh also HC won't have a RMAH. Which I'm not to happy about as I won't be able to sell my items to make money for a golden toilet to match my gold shower and sink.
