True Blood
    #14936765 - 08/17/11 01:30 PM (1 year, 9 months ago)

How many of you all watch True Blood? I put it off for a long time because I thought it would be like that twilight bullshit, turns out it's a pretty entertaining show. Not the best series, but it has some interesting concepts like vampire blood provides something of a psychedelic experience(the way they describe it is spot on with that of a traditional psychedelic). Thoughts?

I watch that shit, it's a good show.  Season 4 is kind of all over the place with too many storylines.

The quality is great, no complaints on any of the episodes I have seen.

FYI the first season is kind of boring but really gets going by the third season.  I'm such a True Blood whore and I'm slightly embarrassed to admit it most of the time
but I gotta say having True Blood knowledge is like a super-easy in when you're talking to bitches.

There's a scene in that show and I can't remember which season but someone describes taking V, and the way they describe it sounds like an LSD trip verbatim.

There's only one flaw with the show and it's a very big one, that when a human drinks blood from a vampire, that human and vampire become connected, and the human has sexual feelings for that vampire.  It also means that the vampire "feels" when that person is in danger.  So all the people taking V recreationally don't have this phenomenon, it seems to only come into play when it works for the show.

I watch it and it's the gayest show that I keep up with. Not far ahead of Weeds. Still entertaining though.

I don't watch this show, but it's on in my house quite a bit because my girlfriend loves it.

The girls are pretty hot.

I don't know about anyone else, but I know the gf is pissed about this season.  She says it sucks.

Yep, I watch the show, love it.

They succeeded into making a supernatural world believable.

I watch the show and love it, but it is nowhere near believable to me. Undead vampires cry blood and can get erections, yet they don't have a heartbeat? I'm going to stop there just because I could go on forever.

I've been watching it pretty faithfully, my only complaint is that there's so many different little side stories it breaks up the flow of the show too much and too many of the little side stories are totally uninteresting. This season is a little bit slow and weak too imo. :frown:

The female vampires are the coolest of course.

also, when humans take V, it's always very small amounts.  one drop has some of the characters going on an absolute psychedelic journey.  yet, of the countless times we've seen the characters swallow gulps and gulps of the stuff straight from the vein to heal up (sookie especially), they never seem to experience any of the drug-like effects.  shouldn't that be the equivalent to taking a thumbprint?

I love True Blood and am actually enjoying this show so far. It's so full of twists and turns.

True Blood is a point of division for a lot of my friends... some of them are turned off by the soap opera-ish elements, whereas for the rest of us it is a guilty pleasure. :datass:

V just does whatever the writers need it to do. It is the catch-all plot drug.

i know its 20 days old but you guys caught up with the last of the season? i just the 11th episode marny finally got her comeupins and everything seemed to be winding down till last scene. Now i gotta wait 6 damn days to see the final shit storm of the season.
for me true blood is also the gayest show i watch but alan ball is a genius and the show is actually written pretty well. as for the whole V thing im with you on that one big loop hole.
