A beautiful day for a ride on the Quad
    #14852908 - 07/31/11 08:22 PM (1 year, 9 months ago)

So my buddy and I went out today. Been doing some work on this quad I picked up about a month ago. The thing was a piece of junk when I got it. But I was expecting a project. And it certainly lived up to my expectations.

So lately I've been hanging with these guys and riding every week. We have dirt bikes, quads, go carts and mini bikes and we just have a blast. I never got to this this much as a kid because my parents were just so against it, so I'm a bit of a late bloomer, but I'm having a blast. I'm hitting jumps and kicking the crap out of myself on a weekly basis, but I'm having so much fun doing it!

So today I finally got my quad up to par for the most part and took it out for a little test drive. Aside from some minor hiccups along the way it was good to go. It's a Honda TRX250EX and I got it for $400 as is. replaced all the broken stuff and pretty much rebuilt everything except the engine from junkyards and bike shops. Ended up costing me a little over 800$ Just ordered some rear tires today because I couldn't get up anything! I was doing donuts from first up through 4th gear the back tires are so worn, lol.

Anyways, I'm loving the rides and being outside so much. The adrenaline rush of hitting a big hill or a jump is pretty hard to describe as well. Love it. ANyways, just wanted to share.

I use to jump quads. one day i broke my arm and two fingers because it turned as i was hitting the jump. real good fun. i love riding, trails, jumps, whatever realy. Just getting out there in the wind on a bike is awesome.

I now mainly ride a 2 wheeler to jump, and a quad to do drifts and doe-nuts

Lol, yeah I'm thinking of getting a bike already. It is fun though, and a blast to ride through the powerline trails. And as you said, just getting out there in the wind on a bike is a great feeling.

that area in the photo looks like an epic spot to ride! is it an old quarry?

"We are all intoxicated. We were born into an insane asylum, a world crazy-making. We believe what we see and hear. The real myth is the myth of sanity, of rationality: it's a disease that is eating away at the earth. All the poisons flow from our denial. We deny madness, we forget our crimes, we dismember the corpse, we imprison our children. We need poison to poison the poison, to remember the sacred nature of intoxication, the green body of the young god." ~ Dale Pendell

active quarry actually. We just go there after 5 or on the weekends.

And we do have places that look like that naturally around here as well, but they are right on the beaches and the Environmental Cops patrol em all day on THEIR quads and tell us we're not allowed to ride quads there because it causes erosion problems... :facepalm3:

wouldn't that be crazy!

Lets just say that particular pit is known as the "Coke Pits" and if you are close, you'd definitely know it by that name.
