Is it possible to fix a portable ac units compressor? Danby Premiere Series DPAC11010 model. Unit is one year old and works perfectly fine other then the compressor and has zero imperfections.
I would really like to get it working again. I cant seem to find anything about replacement compressors on the internet. The unit had a 8 inch vortex fan about 10 feet down the intake ducting sucking air in from outside and through 2 1000 watt lights then into the unit. So it died from too hot of air or forcing air into the unit, or both.

Its possible for sure, just some basic small scale HVAC
Economical though, Likely not
If you could find a used compressor for cheap
you would have to find / buy torches for welding Refrigerant (anything other than R134a requires a liscense to buy) a vacuum pump and other bits and pieces to put it all together
however if you have a friend who has the tools / skills it could be done for relatively cheap
U sure it dosent just need to be recharged ?

If its the compressor and if you cant fix it yourself then its done, have you put a meter on it to see if thats the problem?

I have a multimeter where would I be checking?
I can't find anything about doing this myself on the internet. The best I find is people saying clean air filter and if the compressor is bad then just buy a whole new portable unit because it would cost nearly the same after labor. All information you can give would be great.

Does the compressor turn on, or does it remain silent?
