 Bristol Mum Lobbies Downing Street To Reclassify Ketamine

A Bristol mother who's son died after taking an overdose of the class C drug Ketamine is marching on Downing Street today with a petition to try and see it reclassified.
ShielmorTwomeyfrom Henbury, whose 28-year-old son Caleb Morris took his own life in 2009 after becoming addicted to the horse tranquiliser, launched a campaign group - Ketamine Awareness - in Bristol last year in an attempt to raise awareness of the dangers of the drug.
Caleb dived off the Clifton Suspension Bridge in January 2010 after he suffered depression on the drug.
1,058 signatures have been collected, and Shielmor Twomey will be going to Downing Street to hand in the petition, along with family from Caleb's father's side, friends, and Bristol West MP Charlotte Leslie.
Ketamine is currently a class C drug, but MrsTwomeyhopes that with the help of her local MPCharlotteLeslie she can get it upgraded.
Ms Twomey hopes her son will be the face of the Ketamine Awareness campaign. She said: "I want people to see his face and think of all the lives that have been saved because of him.
"Ketamine destroys lives. I saw it wreak havoc with Caleb's mental state and get a hold of him, causing awful mood swings. I do not want him to have died in vain. Something good has to come from his death.�€�
Bristol West MP Miss Leslie tabled an early day motion on the issue and is currently looking to gain the support of more MPs. She said: "This drug may not be as widely used as others we hear about all the time, but nevertheless it has a huge and devastating impact."

ANOTHER fucking concerned mom trying to get drugs banned...It's ALWAYS a mom whose kid tried a drug and hurt his/herself...it's the same story again and again.
Overprotective moms have a lot of political leeway it seems.

you know... maybe if this stuff came legally packaged in the recommended dosages without filler street crap... then maybe, just maybe these accidental overdoses would be way less frequent... but no. nobodies got the balls to make that move so i guess for now we play roulette with the street drugs.

Maybe he overdosed in the ''I have no idea what the fuck reality'' sense and killed himself because of it. Overdose can mean, taking too damn much- not necessarily, taking so much you die.

What accidental overdose?  The kid....wait, no, from the way the article is written you would think it's a kid, but it's a grown ass 28 year old motherfucker, killed himself after his life sucked and he tried to remedy it with a drug, which obviously led to a downward spiral. Maybe his mom should have taught him to try not to medicate his problems away. This could have happened, probably even more easily, if the dude got his hands on legal painkillers. I wonder what that mom would be lobbying about then.

The sad thing is the semantics of this sentimental, no thought bullshit is VERY convincing to the stupid...AKA 90% of humanity.
