Animal Repllents?
    #14620297 - 06/16/11 01:49 AM (1 year, 11 months ago)

Anyone know any good animal repellents?

Ways to keep coyotes, bears, rabbits, deer,etc... away from you or your tomato garden??

  :peace:

Bear traps tend to work well for me  :devilguy:

No, on a serious note though I really can't imagine there's anything harmless that could keep a bear away. Maybe try a low voltage electric fence to give them a scare, I don't know if you want to be 100% animal friendly though.

They sell fox/coyote urine in bottles, that supposedly helps repel smaller rodents like rabbits, possums, rats, racoons, and such. Not sure how well it works though, or if it works on deer. You have to reapply it regularly though and after every rain. Deer will eat anything if they are hungry. Your best bet is probably a tall fence..

Maybe a scarecrow wouldnt be a bad idea.      Im afraid coyote urine might attract more coyotes which we have some.

That product looks legit for night time. The only thing i wonder is if you have to charge it often or if its a long lasting battery, but def looks legit.

My dog would chase them to the next county if I'd let her.  I long ago lost track of all the bears she's treed, and coyotes know better than to even howl within her earshot.  Of course, she grew up in the mountains.  A city dog might be more inclined to make new friends out of them.

Why do you care about that? Are you actually growing tomato plants, or are you growing weed?
