Tips on finding psilocybe mushrooms in pine plantations?

hey guys ive been trying to find some psipsilocybe subaeruginosa in pine plantations but have come out unlucky everytime . can anyone give me some tips on where to look in the pine plantations, like should i be looking directly in the pine needles or just outside the plantations with a mixture of grass and pine needles. any help would be higly appreciated thanks

I always heard to look for subbs in hard wood chips. Not pines. Not an aussie, though.

yeah thats true that, but i have a great majority of pine plantations around my area compared to wood chips beds and it would be good to know how to find them in the plantations. i find them under pine trees in parks all the time but can never find them at actual plantations

Perhaps the trees in the park are mulched with hardwood under the pine needles or something. Subbs are a hardwood-loving species and I doubt you will find many in a forest of pine.

na, its just dirt and pine needles, when i pulled heaps up for stem butts that all was on them pine needles, and there have been finds on the melbourne hunting seaso thread recently too of them found in pine needles. check it out if your still in doubt

usually they will be around the outside of the forest along the tracks in the grasses.

I have found them in pine plantations, growing from woody debris (from pines) and even directly from a pine cone. They don't seem to be as abundant in plantations and tend to be smaller.
