chanterelles? and a wood ear?
    #14645084 - 06/20/11 10:33 PM (1 year, 10 months ago)

Found these today in the woods growing out of the ground/decaying wood
Was having trouble telling if they were jack o lanterns or chatrelles

Gills are attached to the stem

Stems are slightly hollow/stringy

spore printing now

Also, I see these almost every time I go for a woods walk never payed them much attention until I saw some wood ear mushrooms in a local grocery store :P

Sometimes I see a very similar looking fungus but yellow.

Yay!  I was leaning more towards the jack o lantern mushroom side.  Glad to know I have something fun to cook up tonight.

As for the other mushrooms the shot is kind of an odd angle

When I see them they are all over whatever I find them on.  with 5 or 6 oyester like clumps per spot.

here's another

Also thank you for the ID
