 how much does it cost to install or built a new electrical system in a house?

Any base estimate? Its a 700 square foot home. 2 bedroom 1 bath. The house is old built in 1900. Needs to be rehabbed.

depends. is there a crawl space how high is it from the floor to the ground.. and depending on where u r.. for new construction i pay anywhere from lik 2 to 3 dollars a foot. so yours might be more cause its easier to wire a new house. i would say probley around 3000 for material and labor..

Who is going to do the work and do you want it done correctly. Lets say you want to plan for future needs and go with a 200 Amp pannel with 40 positions. In the past it was 500 if you did it yourself and 2000 if hired average electrition. Now you are talking 100 per breaker for the newer arc fault breakers.
The price above is was just for the box and wire comming into it. No if you are also are going to wire the house.
How many rooms tell us more. Size of the bigger rooms. If you are going to fish the wire your self you can save a lot. Are you planning on cutting up the walls like many electricians would or do you want it done with out any damage that anyone would see? How many flors is the house and is the attic finished?

What you need to check is that there is no Asbestos in the walls- that could derail your whole project. And if you open up the walls, you could prolly run the wires your self, then have an electrican MAKE ALL CONNECTIONS -

Last year, I had the entire breaker panel ripped out before I moevd into a new home (the old one was faulty).
It was $1200.

I strongly recommend that anybody planning on making any alterations to their electrical panel hire a licensed, insured electrician. It is not something Joe Handyman should be fucking with. Ever.

find a friend who works for an electrical supply house.
I work for one and I pay 10% over cost on stuff.
